PHUSE Connect events are dynamic, collaborative gatherings that bring together professionals from across the clinical data science landscape. Taking place annually in Europe and the US, the Connects are where we exchange ideas, spark innovations, and make lasting connections.
In February 2026, PHUSE breaks new ground with its first-ever Connect in APAC, hosted in the city of Hyderabad, India from 19 to 21 February.
Presenting at a PHUSE Connect is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise, expand your professional network, and contribute to industry discussions. If you’re considering submitting an abstract, this guide will walk you through the process and provide key tips for being accepted.
Why Present at a PHUSE Connect?
Share What You Know
Presenting allows you to showcase your expertise, share valuable insights, and help advance the industry. You’ll also gain knowledge from attendees through interactive discussions.
Build Your Professional Profile
Speaking at a PHUSE Connect raises your profile and positions you as a thought leader. Your name and profile will appear in the PHUSE App and event agenda, increasing your visibility.
Grow with the Community
The Connect events are where people come together to exchange ideas and grow. Presenters often say the conversations that happen after their sessions are just as valuable as their presentations.
Develop New Skills
You’ll build confidence in public speaking, learn to tell your story effectively, and become even more comfortable sharing your ideas. And remember – everyone in the room wants you to succeed.
PHUSE Recognition Awards
As part of our ongoing effort to celebrate excellence and volunteer contributions, PHUSE presents three Connect Recognition Awards:
● Best in Connect – Awarded to the most outstanding presentation at the event
● Best Connect Newcomer – Recognising the top presentation by a first-time PHUSE speaker
● Best in Stream – Celebrating the highest-quality content within each Stream
Presenting at a PHUSE Connect doesn’t just allow you to share your ideas – it also gives you the chance to be recognised for your contribution to the Community. These awards highlight the exceptional work of our presenters and underscore how important your voice is within PHUSE.
How to Write a Standout Abstract
We’re truly grateful to the PHUSE Community for the overwhelming response and the high quality of ideas shared. To give yourself the best chance of being selected in this incredibly competitive process, follow these key tips for crafting a clear, compelling abstract that will stand out to reviewers. Follow these steps to maximise your chances of being accepted.
The Abstract Review & Selection Process
Once abstracts are submitted, a structured review takes place:
-
Call for Papers Closes: All submissions are reviewed based on quality and relevance.
-
Stream Chairs Review: Abstracts are categorised and assessed within their respective Streams.
-
Preliminary Selection: A preliminary agenda is formed based on available slots.
-
Final Review Meeting: The PHUSE Committee finalises selections, ensuring a diverse and balanced programme.
-
Acceptance and Rejection Emails: Notifications are sent within four weeks of Call for Papers closing.
PHUSE receive a high volume of innovative and high-quality submissions each year. While we may not be able to accept every proposal for the main event, there are still great opportunities to get involved – including presenting at Single Day Events or joining our pool of vital backup presenters.
New to Presenting?
You don’t need speaking experience at PHUSE or elsewhere to submit an abstract. What matters is that you have a valuable perspective to share and a willingness to contribute to the conversation.
Each year, we welcome first-time presenters whose fresh insights and unique experiences enrich the programme. If you bring the content, PHUSE will provide the platform to support and showcase your voice.
Ready to Submit?
Call for Papers for the EU Connect 2025 close on Friday 25 April – if you have an idea worth sharing, don’t hesitate to submit your 150-word abstract. Review the submission guidelines, refine your proposal, and take this exciting step in your professional journey!
